These wood types have distinct characteristic of their own. They bring a different flavor when it comes to tone quality. It gives sufficient resonance to the guitar to sound at its best.
If you prefer less midrange sound try Mahogany, Spruce and Alder. Now if you want a bass type tone, use Basswood. For high mid range, use Walnut, Lacewood , Korina and Koa. Now if you want a strong high tone I prefer Swamp Ash, Maple and Rosewood. Each wood has its own unique character.
Now let's go to pick ups which make the sound of the guitar. You can either choose between a single coil and hum bucker pick up. A single coil gives a less power sound while a humbucker gives out high output. These can vary with type of magnets used such as Alnico and Ceramic. Next topic, I will discuss more on the pick ups.
