Awesome Headphones - Wireless Headphones Review Review

by Christian Miller

I bought a set of these a few weeks ago. I'm an overnight worker and try to keep my sleep pattern regular, so I'm often up all night on my nights off. The sound is excellent and they are comfortable even after hours of use. I've had no problems with range in our house -- work well in all rooms.

6 months later - update Takes some pretty fancy technology to really impress me these days, and but these headphones are nothing but perfection. I have used high end corded headphones for a long time, and have always preferred Sennheiser.

I have been charging and allowing the phones to completely discharge for a week now and I'm getting 8-10 hours listening time. I'm still far from the 24 hours they claim however.

These are open phones and provide absolutely no isolation from ambient noise. If you want sound isolation, consider the Sennheiser RS 170 closed wireless phones; also sold on Amazon.

I haven't encountered any interference to the headphone system caused by other appliances (wireless telephones and Wi-Fi) in my house. Nor have I encountered any interference to the other appliances caused by the headphone system. You need to go by feel, and I suppose after some time this will become easier. Regarding range, there may be some slight improvement but not dramatic.

That is to say every note was rendered as a distinct and succinct item. If you want headphones that are strident, then look elsewhere. The evaluation system consisted of the following: Sony STR-DA5200ES, Sony (Costco) BDP-BX57, and Sony CDP-CX335. The Blu-ray player was connected via HDMI & the 400 Cd Mega-changer was hooked up via analog connects.

I can feel the volume buttons, but have to work at it. If the buttons were raised above the case and separated, it would help. So far I have gone a few rooms nearby. They are just crystal clear all the time. The RS 180s, once set up, sound fantastic. They are very high-quality. I would still recommend these headphones even with the few negatives it has. With what really counts for me is quality construction, comfort and excellent sound reproduction, these headphones have it.

Ample volume control when you need it. When I listen to live concert videos and enable the automatic level control, the speech is much easier to understand.
